Interview Rehearsal Checklist
A practical checklist for turning prepared answers into speech you can deliver clearly under pressure.
Before you practice
Choose 5-7 questions that are genuinely likely for this role.
Prepare key ideas, not sentences you plan to recite word-for-word.
Build 3-5 STAR stories you can reuse across multiple questions.
Make sure your opening answer is short enough to say comfortably.
During practice
Say the answer out loud, not silently in your head.
Record one take and replay it once.
Choose one improvement for the next take.
Repeat with fewer written cues.
Useful rule: stop polishing the written answer when speaking practice is the actual bottleneck.
Before the interview
Practice your first answer and your final questions one last time.
Test camera, microphone, internet, and backup audio if the interview is remote.
Stop rehearsing early enough to arrive mentally fresh.
